Overcoming injuries, heat, humidity and some very talented competition, the Braves North 13U team notched their fourth tournament victory of the season.
With only 9 players available for the weekend, the North team topped a daunting Hanover team along with a scrappy Tidewater Drillers club in pool play to attain the #2 seed and a much needed bye.
In the semi-finals, the North rallied from a 6 to 0 hole and scored a 13 to 6 victory over the uber-talented Braves Majors club.
In the final, the North took on another Braves outfit, the Braves South. The South team took an early 2 to 0 lead behind the fire-balling Trey Gibson. The North pecked away through innings 4, 5 and 6 and came away with a 5 to 3 victory.
