14U Braves National Win IMPACT Baseball Elite 14U Championships
Charlotte, NC - The 14U Richmond Braves National Team (2016/17) went to Charlotte this weekend for their highly anticipated Spring/Summer opener. Multiple Pre-Season Rankings have identified this team as a National top 10 coming off their impressive Fall performance. The team has several Freshman players on the roster and all are varsity contributors for their respective high school teams. This made the IMPACT 14U Championships the official spring/summer opener for the team.
With Charlotte forecasters dialing up near perfect baseball weather, the Braves started their Round-Robin format on Saturday with Team Carolina and On-Deck baseball on the schedule. Braves National wasted no time getting going as they put together very efficient pitching and an absolute offensive barrage to finish day 2-0. The day 2 schedule promised a challenge as 2 of North Carolina’s top programs, Dirtbags and SBA Canes (Ferguson) awaited. The SBA Canes tilt was largely a pitchers duel until the Braves broke the bats loose in the 6th scoring 8 unanswered runs and posting their third straight run-rule shortened contest in the tournament. The final match up with a very strong Dirtbags squad would prove to be the best contest of the weekend. Excellent pitching and Elite hitting would be the headliner in this one and when the dust cleared the red hot Braves National were champions! The Braves outscored their competition 44-10 and the overall record now stands at 33-1!
