17u Braves Win Tournament of Champions

The 17u Richmond Braves National team won the prestigious Tournament of Champions in Cincinnati, Ohio. This wood bat invite-only event featured 35 teams from 14 states which included some of the top organizations in the country.  The Braves went 7-0 and were the only team to go undefeated in pool play to capture the #1 seed in the playoffs.  They won games in a variety of ways which included two 1-0 bottom of the 7th walk off wins in the same day.  The Braves knocked off the St. Louis Prospects Red, 4-0 in the first semifinal. The Richmond Braves National and the Diamond Devils from South Carolina, two nationally ranked teams by way of Perfect Game, squared off in the championship game. The Braves came out on top in extras, 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th inning for another walk off win.

 
The 17u Richmond Braves West team went 3-3 in the tournament with big wins over the top ranked East Cobb Astros and the LIDS Indiana Bulls Black. The West beat the Astros in walk off fashion 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
